Hearing her name she looked back up and raised a brow before he went on and she sighed. "It's spuratic but I remember some things maybe a year ago I can't be sure. At times it's longers sometimes not. And it generally happens maybe a few times a month can't be sure honestly. The most reason was after the bear attack. I remember him chasing me but nothing after falling out of the tree." Shrugging some slightly before looking back up and nodding to his last question.
Licking her tongue out softly over her lips before following him, slipping through the trees. Although she was alot better at keeping up with him than one might think. Matching his path just to be safe before the city finally came into view and she stayed just behind him. Resting her hand on his arm nodding to his suggestion only to hear his next statement. Slipping ahead of him a moment. "We can keep along the path you said and it shouldn't be that far, find the house first check it out. Than I can slip out and head to the store and see about a few things. Let the lord have his peaceful show alone."
Smiling before she took off and it was his turn to keep up, she was quite able to move fast even in her heels. Keeping a look out every now and than when she would catch movement before about 20 minutes later she was looking up at a much older house. Easily seen that no one stayed there, but still good enough for them to use for now. Slipping along the trees just making sure than she quickly slipped to the side, no sense going in the front and risk someone seeing. Nope along the back she found a window loose enough and pushed it before pulling up and over the edge and inside.
Turning to look back at him after dropping her bag and reached out to take the ones he was carrying from him.

So her memory cuts out whenever she changes.. Whenever the demon breaks itself free, he thought as he moved through the forest, Maybe something big happened in her past that the demon blocked out. Only thing that worries me, is the demon good.. or not? He pondered with a side-ways glance at her as they'd stopped at the edge of the forest. He didn't say anything about it, not yet. He couldn't imagine the girl having done something truly awful that the demon would block all of that out for.. unless what dwelled inside of her was good and was trying to protect her? But at the same time, if it were bad, it could be wiping her memory on purpose. He frowned with a thought. If she doesn't know it's there, that means there's no control over it. If she doesn't have control over it, it's liable to wipe the slate in her head for whenever it takes over.. forcing her to forget. A sigh slipped past his tanned lips with the thought. It was all too plausible. She wouldn't be the first of their kind to have the same problem.
He'd been lucky enough that whatever it was taking a place in his soul wasn't that cruel and violent. Whatever it was had a far more gentle being, guess that was a good thing. It would explain why he didn't spazz out and kill people. Knox gave a quick shake on his head to clear it out so that he could listen to her as she spoke. Dark brows furrowed a little. "Sounds good, except the part about you slipping out and heading to the store. I really hope you weren't planning on going alone?" He said, eyeing her carefully. It wasn't that he didn't trust her.. he didn't trust this city. He didn't trust the people that lived here to make sure that she was safe.. and that honestly meant a great deal to him at the moment, her safety.
Maybe it was just because the girl was like a drug supply to him, and he wasn't quite ready to give up his addiction to her. As she took off toward the house he followed easily, only a few short paces behind her. Knox had no trouble at all in keeping stride with her and if he had known the way he would have stayed ahead of her the whole time, or at least beside her. Dark eyes followed her as she ducked out of the trees and ran up to the shadows of the house. He double checked before darting out of the cover of the trees to the side of the house, helping to hoist her up and through the window before yanking the bags from his shoulders and pushing them up for her to grab and pull through the window. Once he was sure she had everything inside he gripped the window sill and pulling himself up quickly into the room, landing in an immediate defensive crouch. His nostrils twitched, taking in the scent of the house to be sure it was empty. Thankfully all he picked up on was dust and stagnat water from somewhere below, nothing threatening at all. Slowly he pulled himself back up and dropped the window back into place quietly. "So this is it, huh?" He asked, a brow arching up.

Kat honestly had no idea about the demon hince why she took it so wrong when he questioned it on her. She just wanted to know why she couldn't remember and what she was forgetting, if she had a family or anyone that might miss her. Something. Anything now would be something to her even if it all lead to a deadend, but Kat would welcome anything at the moment it beat not knowing her own life, her own past. She felt like she didn't belong at times, that she herself was just some figment of anothers mind playing out a false life. It was the cause of the nightmares and her whimpering in her sleep.
Blinking a moment when she look back over at him while he spoke wrinkling her nose some before shaking her head. "What? I could easily slip into a store if need by pay for the food and come back. What could possible go wrong Knox?" Looking at him a moment before they continued on not really thinking about those bastards. Yet, maybe she should.
When they got to the house she smiled at the help before grabbing his bags and looking around. Catching from the corner of her eye his hesitation, before he seemed to relax and spoke. "Yea. I know its not much or probably what you were thinking but it works. Come on lets see what we can find here." Grabbing her bag she hooked it over one shoulder and began to walk from the room, though was surprised to see the furniture still there. Granted it was dusty beyond anything you could imagine and she wasn't quite sure how strong any of it was still.
Checking the rooms slowly, finding some empty others with a few pieces and than one bedroom upstairs that actually still had its complete suit. "Well this room will work to get some rest, if your cool with sharing." A look over her shoulder at him before walking into the bathroom seeing it had a rather nice shower and tub. 'Mmm a bath sounds heavenly.' She was thinking before slipping back out and throwing her bag on the bed. Aside from dust it was fine. "I'm gonna check out the kitchen seeing as we found a bedroom to sleep in. Need to see what I have to work with if I'm to fix you this fantastic meal."

Knox stayed quiet for a time, letting himself get lost in his thoughts before hearing her question. A deep frown pulled at his lips."What could go wrong? Seriously?" He asked. He wasn't normally one to feel so protective over someone. Some of his possessions, sure.. but people? No. Normally he didn't give a damn what happened to someone, what they were thinking or felt. But he was feeling very oddly protective over Kat. He wasn't trying to show it either, he didn't want to be like one of those insanely jealous boyfriend types.. especially since he wasn't her boyfriend. He had no real ties to her other than the fact that they'd slept together. Before she had the chance to answer his question he sighed. "D'you forget about the psychopaths from yesterday? Or that we have no idea what other kinds of people live in this town? Who does what? What these people are looking for?" He asked all of this very quickly, looking both irritated at the fact that she hadn't thought of this herself and embaressed for reasons she probably wouldn't understand at all.
He was embaressed because he was acting just like he hadn't wanted to, like some jealous boyfriend trying to keep his girlfriend from seeing her best friend who so happened to be a guy. Great. He sniffed, rubbing at his nose after he'd breathed in too much of the dust from the house. After a moment he sneezed, his hands flying up to cover his face before waving them around him as if that would clear the dust away. "It'd be fine if I could breath right in here." His nose wrinkled up a little, figuring he'd find a window to open and let some air through here. It wasn't like he planned to stay in this house long, just long enough to rest up and get some energy, some good food and a decent meal in his system. He wasn't all that keen on the leaving her behind part, but knew that would come eventually anyway.
He scooped his bag up and put it onto his shoulder, just holding the straps of the duffle in his hand as he followed her until they found the bedroom. Without a word he dropped the duffle by the foot of the bed and sneezed again before rushing to the window and throwing it open. Fresh air, yeah, that was key. He took in a few deep breaths of the clean air and sneezed again. A low breath escaped him, cursing in that low breath, then tossed his bag onto the bed. When he turned it was to see her looking into the bathroom. "I don't mind sharing, so long as you can tolerate all the windows being open.. I think these people had a bird at some point.." He said with a wrinkle of his nose. There were only a few things that Knox was allergic to, bird feathers was the highest on the list.. next to a slight lactose intolerance (applying to cream rather than milk). He nodded as she mentioned going to check the kitchen. He had other plans.
If he was going to spend the night here, or any part of the day, there were some things he needed to do. As soon as she walked out of the room he dropped their bags from the bed to the floor and yanked the blankets from the bed to haul them outside. It was only going to make his sneezing worse, but there was no way he'd be able to sleep on the bed with that much dust.. none. His plan was to take them outside and shake them out as best he could, even if it irritated his allergy even more.

Kat glared back at him a moment hearing the sarcastic tone in his question but just shook her head. Looking around a moment before he decided to continue and turned around staring at him wide-eyed a moment. A faint growl slipping out under her breath before she closed her eyes a moment. "Are you always this persistent or just an annoying habit you have with me? Fine. Since you think I need protecting than come just don't blame me if you can't keep up."
Dropping it than and now as she moved through the house although his sneezing was having her curious. Licking her lips though as they went on and it continued even in the room they would share she got it. His comment on the bird had her getting a slight understanding. "Its fine take it your allergic to the feathery creature? We could maybe see about watching what were going to use if that helps."
Her words soft once more before she did indeed slip out of the room shortly after to go find the kitchen. Needed to know what she would need and not to cook them a nice few meals here and there. Brushing her tongue softly over her lips she finally stopped in the doorway of the exact room she needed and exhaled. Aside from being unused for so long it seemed alright, but before she got to excited she went around checking the drawers and cabinets.
A soft rustling was heard but nothing that anyone without their acute hearing would notice. It seemed to have so old pans that after close inspection might need to be replaced and the utensils were alright iffy at best. So she made mental notes to grab somethings when 'they' left again in a little while. Opening the refridgerator she gasp and gagged. Covering her mouth to try and not throw-up from the look and smell. "Ugg should of known got that is disgusting." Shaking her head at the sight of rotten and molded food before just shutting the door and letting out a breath.
"Gonna need a bloody air-mask to clean than thing and not throw-up." Growling softly before she finished looking around and was mildly happy and relieved when nothing else seemed as bad as the fridge.

Knox rolled his eyes at her when she spoke. "How about a little of both." He snapped back before a laugh slipped from his lips. "Keep up? Kat, baby I have no problem keeping up with you." He said, an angry grin filling his lips. She may have dropped it, but he certainly didn't have plans to. It was dangerous out in the city alone, yesterday had proved that. Until he could meet someone from this god-forsaken town that wasn't trying to kidnap/experiment on innocent people.. he'd hold a grudge against it. Hell if it weren't for the fact that he wasn't ready to quit his little drug supply, he'd have left town already.
He nodded at her words in the bedroom, rubbing at his nose to try and keep from sneezing again. "Not the bird itself.. just the feathers.. " He commented, looking around the room for a moment then wrinkled his nose. "Bet this house has been empty since the end.." He said, naturally referring to the implosion. He'd had an idea, and it was the only plausible one. Knox traced a finger over the dresser, leaving a long line of dust in it. "Which means the feathers are here.." He held up his dust stained finger with a grimace.
Once outside he shook the blankets so hard he thought that the seems would tear. Dark eyes watched as the midmorning air around him filled with a thick gray from the dust. He did everything in his power not to breathe the entire time he was shaking out the fabrics, trying not to get anymore into his sinuses and lungs than was already there. A frown his his lips after dragging the blankets away from his little dust cloud and raising them to his face to take a cautious whiff. "Ugh.." He muttered, still smelled like dust. There wasn't much more shaking he could do. He frowned, grabbing up the load and taking it back into the house. Spotting her in the kitchen beside the fridge a brow arched. "Something gross?" He asked with a tiny chuckle before his nose wrinkled and his eyes squeezed shut. He was trying to hold back another sneeze... and he failed. "Dammit." He whispered in annoyance before turning his attention back to her face. "How long you think we'll be here?" He asked. If they were staying for any period of time he would have to clean.. he couldn't stand being stuck in all the dust. Hell sleeping outside was more preferable.. No, sleeping outside in a snowstorm without a blanket or tent was more preferable than this.

Kat rolled her eyes and just ignored his little tease back at her before he went on. Looking back slowly to him and wrinkled her nose. "Keep telling yourself that...baby." Turning away from him once more before hearing what he was having issues with. A brow raised before she nodded some. glancing around the room as he spoke of how long it could of been empty. "Your probably right, we can clean up the rooms were going to use. Keeping the others closed perhaps to help."
As he soon joined her in the kitchen she looked up before nodding some and grabbed his arm. Keeping him from going near the fridge for now only to see him once more having a sneezing fit. "Yea you could say there is something gross in it, will need to clean it out quite good. So while we're out might want to grab some cleaning supplies." Sighing softly before he asked about how long they were staying and tilted her head some. "I haven't thought about it, probably a little while I would think."
Slipping slowly back out of the kitchen and the faint sound of footsteps on the stairs were heard. If they were leaving to grab supplies, food she was going prepared. Either they bought it or stole it but she preferred to be ready for either case given how early it still was. And pulled the money she had out, slipping some in her pockets, the boots and her top. Girl didn't do purses than headed back to meet him so they could get started.

He rolled his eyes back at her when she spoke, ignoring that she threw the 'baby' back at him. The look of annoyance having all but faded when she mentioned cleaning some of the rooms. His nose wrinkled up a little at the thought of actually cleaning, but knew he would have done it anyway if she planned on them staying here for more than a few days. "We probably should.. It's disgusting in here." He commented before another sneeze echoed in the room. Knox let out a light laugh as she mentioned there being something gross in the fridge and pulling him back so that he couldn't see what it was. She seriously acted like whatever it was would actually gross him out.. More than likely, he'd seen worse.
"Alright.. I'm gonna have a quick look around the house." He muttered as she slipped up the stairs, listening to them creak as she walked. He shook his head and opened the cupboard under the sink, taking a peek at what was there. Some Ajax and a bottle of bleach.. Nothing that would really help them. Dark eyes scanned the room before spotting two separate doors. With a shrug he pulled himself back to his feet and walked to the first. Pulling it open, and realizing just how heavy the door was, reveled an extrememly dark set of stairs, probably the basement. He wanted to check down there too. Knox took a step back and pulled open the other door. A pantry. Inside, on the shelves, sat some canned goods, some things in boxes that looked too old to eat, and a few supplies for cleaning. The usual really. Mop, bucket, broom, dustpan, feather duster (which he would actually avoid like the plague), some furniture polish, a vaccum and trash bags. A smirk hit his lips, figuring they might not need to pick up as much as she thought.
Next stop? The basement. Knox left the pantry door open so that when Kat came back to the kitchen she would see the items inside. With a slow breath in, hoping to avoid rats or anything else down in the basement, he slipped down the concrete stairs. It took a moment, but his eyes adjusted enough to see a foot in front of him, enough to see the little beaded string that hung from an old light mounted into the ceiling. With a shrug he tugged the cord, highly doubting it would actually work and was surprised to find that it turned on, though flickered wildly. He chuckled and shook his head. "Like something out of an old horror movie." He muttered, dark eyes dancing quickly around the nearly empty space. Along one wall were shelves with more canned goods, bottles of water, candles.. "Jesus.." He muttered, stepping closer and looking over everything. An old radio, batteries. These people had a bomb shelter in their basement.
And a look around at the windows (which didn't exist) told him that he was right. The ceiling was even made of concrete that he wouldn't doubt was at least a foot thick. So... he wondered, what happened to them? If the people that had lived here had been prepared for the end of the damned world.. why weren't they here? There was enough food here to last one person at least two years. Pondering that thought he turned away from the shelves, letting his gaze dart around the basement again. The far wall held the stairs, an old bed, a card table and what looked like some old games though their covers were too faded to be sure. Beside that was what his objective had been to begin with; A washer and dryer. Thank god. He even saw a box of soap on the tiny shelf above the washer. "Things are certainly looking up.." He said to himself as he turned to move back up the stairs.

Kat couldn't help smirking some at his words but than again looking around the place did need a good cleaning. Even if she hated the idea as much as he did at this point. Smacking his arm as he laughed at her before she let him go explore and she had run upstairs to go get the money.
Though as she came down and walked back into the kitchen she didn't see him, although did notice the cabinets. Looking inside she was shocked seeing the cans, the boxes though would throw them out. But even a few cleaning supplies and smirked a little. Glancing at the items to see if they were even still usable and was surprised they were. Maybe a little more cleaning sprays to clean with, soap. But it did appear they had more than either realized. Hell the vaccum was a big plus in her eyes with all the bloody dust.
Closing it though she still wondered about Knox, "Knox?" Her voice soft but knew he could easily hear before she saw the other door leading down to the basement. Stepping closer she caught the footsteps and his scent before decending them to take a look for herself. The flickering light a little annoying but what she could see shocked her. "Damn...this house is just full of more suprises with every turn. Oh there are some sheets, towels and things in the closet so we can probably use them while the others get washed." Looking over at him and smiled before letting her eyes wonder around a moment. "Find anything interesting?"

He barely registered her footsteps above, the concrete so thick above him that he wouldn't have been able to hear it anyway. Though her voice calling out his name did ring into his head. "Down here," he said as he started the climb up though stopped as he spotted her at the top of the stairs. Instead of continuing up he took a step back to let her have a look around herself. He chuckled and shook his head at her comment. "Uh-uh. Everything is getting washed before we use it. God only knows what else is mixed in with the dust in this place." He said with a wrinkle of his nose. He hadn't noticed it before, and it didn't even click in now. There was dusts caking everything on the floors above them, at least three inches thick. Down here there was barely an inch covered with the thin silver. The only true sign of age was the covers on some of the cans and boxes, the covers on the game boxes and the label on the soap had all faded slightly. When it did finally click into his head that he hadn't sneezed once down here he frowned.
Basements were usually the worst for it, having spiders and cobwebs, rats and mice. But this place was decked out, this place was set up in the anticipation that there would be something happening to the world outside of this little place. Again he wondered where the hell the original residents to the house had vanished to. No way in hell had they just left, and if they'd died in the house, one of them would have noticed it by now. At the question a brow rose, shaking his head before jerking his thumb toward the washer. "Not really.. Got a place to wash clothes, got some cleaning supplies and plenty of food." He said lightly. He didn't know if she had started wondering the same thing yet or not. A hand moved to catch her forearm lightly, giving the faintest of tugs toward the stairs, then clicked the light off. "We've got stuff to do, woman." He said, smiling tensely at her.

He called out just about the same time she was coming down and smiled some. Looking around and surprised about this space they found, but did think similarly to his own. It was a bomb shelter yet why did no one use it? She still wasn't all that sure on the explosion issue and honestly didn't want to think about it much. Turning to look at him when he spoke about washing everything and nodded some. "Alright makes sense we can wash things as we clean upstairs." Letting out a breath just taking in a little more, hating how much cleaner it was down here than up there.
"Ugg why can't the upstairs look this clean." Not really saying it to him persay as more expressing her own opinion. Looking at the amount of supplies and was a little more relieved she could still get them other things but having the can goods was a big plus. Nodding as he answered her before she felt the hand on her arm. Turning as he spoke before shoving him playfully. "Damn gotta be such a damn slave driver...fine lets run get a few things since I do still need to make you that meal I promised or rather a couple and than we can also clean."
Growling softly before she leaned in since he had her arm and nipped at his neck, then pulled free and rushed up the stairs.

Hearing her mention that they could wash things as they cleaned he nodded softly, already having planned for it. No, there was no way in hell he'd be able to sleep on anything in this house without his allergies getting that much worse.. Not what he wanted. His tongue brushed over his lips to wet them, tasting the dust in the air and glad there was less here than upstairs. Even though the question wasn't voiced to her, Knox still answered it. "Probably because it's been closed off, that door's pretty thick, not much is getting through that.. plus," he waved an arm around toward the walls, "no windows." He stated. If it hadn't been for his curiosity letting him find the basement, they probably never would have know that the house even had one.. certainly couldn't tell from the outside.
A laugh hit his lips as she shoved against him, gently pushing her back. "Exactly. We have a lot to do. No time to play around." He said as he dashed up the stairs after her. He didn't bother grabbing his backpack this time, whatever they needed to bring back he would just throw into a new bag. That was better than emptying out his entire bag just to carry some things back. "Alright, run it by me. What all do we have to get?" He asked, trying to figure out just where to stop to make this trip as quick as he possibly could. He really didn't like the idea of the city, especially if they had to separate, and he had a feeling they might. He stepped up to the window closest to the front door, peering through the small gap in the curtains and staring out for a moment. Coast was clear, he couldn't see any movement other than the trees in the breeze. Before walking to the front door he pulled the gun from his waistband, it would stay at his side the whole way this time. "Ready?" He asked, waiting for her answer before unlocking the door and pulling it open. Once more she could lead the way, but his eyes would be watchful of everything but her, trying to make sure that nothing came at them.

When he answered she had to think a moment remembering what she had said since it surprised her. Nodding some though in agreement, before taking notice of the lack of windows. Her own brows furrowing a moment still curious about the whole situation but let it go. Now wasn't the time to think about all the 'what if' that were currently playing havoc on her mind.
Hearing the laugh before he was teasing her again she smiled rushing up the stairs and hearing him right behind her. Once back in the kitchen she turned to him and though a moment about his question. "Well we need fresh meat, maybe bread and I saw the cleaning supplies, need a little more bleach for sure. Gloves for the both of us, laundry soap since I doubt that little box will last long. And than if we take showers we need supplies for that as well. So shampoo we can share if we agree on something neutral, soap, toothbrushes."
Pausing a moment running the list in her head, "And IF see the shop more ammunition and blades, or could if we find it wait and go back in the night. Have to see." waiting till he agreed or wanted to any anything else and moved to follow him to the front. Her own gun sticking out of the back of her waistband plus her daggers. Nodding as he pulled the door open and they slipped out, her eyes immediately scanning but finding nothing.
The only sounds were from the forest, the animals in them and she relaxed a little. The house was hidden well in the trees and just a little ways from the town itself. Moving past him and down the stairs keeping her eyes open for anything and slipped back along the shadows.

Yeah, he had to stop thinking about his own 'what-if's' as well, though he did the best he could to put them at the back of his mind, not really needing to think about them right now, there were much more important things that he needed to have at the front of his mind right now. So the what-if's were shifted to the back of his mind until everything else could be dealt with. He listened as she rattled off the things they needed, nodding when she finished. "We can probably get all of that at the supermarket I passed on my way into town. Roughly a quarter mile, that way." He said, raising a hand and pointing South-East of where they were now. He shrugged lightly. "As far as shower supplies go... I dunno, anything fruity is out of the question.. Anything floral is too.." He said with a wrinkle of his nose. He really didn't want to go around smelling like a strawberry. "Anything else is fair game." He said with a shrug. He knew that knocking out fruit and flowers severely limited what she could pick up, but there was always coconut or waterfall or some weird crap like that.
He nodded to the thought of checking around for an ammunitions shop.. hopefully there even was one here in town. "Just depends how much you have us carrying on whether we'll stop now or later tonight." He said, flashing a wink in her direction before it was time to go. He held tight to the gun, holding it in both hands with the barrel pointed toward the sky. He felt like some low-level police officer with the way he moved, but he needed to be able to shoot at any given moment. And he certainly was prepared. He remembered what each of the idiots at the clinic looked like and if they happened to see one, he wouldn't ask questions, he'd just fire. Dark brows furrowed in concentration as he ran behind her, keeping himself only about three feet back, enough that he could stop before colliding with her, but still perfectly close enough in case something popped out at them. Even only hearing the sounds of the forest wasn't enough to relax him. He'd be on red-alert until they were back inside of the house.
He tensed even more as they drew closer to the city, his eyes peering through the gaps in the trees toward the low buildings that were drawing closer. His tongue brushed over his lower lip, flashing a look to her to see which direction she was headed before following behind.

When he mentioned about getting all of it at the supermarket she nodded softly having to agree. Smirking a little at what he vetoed on the shampoo list as far as scent before shaking her head. "Do I look like I do fruity now Knox? Floral so long as its light I can handle it, hate strong scents." Seeing the direction she pointed and moved so they were going that way, her own tension faint in the body language. Although also carrying a gun she kept her hands free. Keeping a watch as she lead them back towards the city although at his comment about what all they carried. A look was shot back to him before she rolled her eyes.
"Keep it up I'll make you carry all of it mister." Feeling her body go a little more tense when they got closer and sighed some. Not really remembering much so spotting the clinic freaks was all on him at the time. Not particularly seeing anyone though could hear noises off in the distance at least. Coming up along side the back of some buildings before seeing take a look around and stopping against the wall. "Put it away Knox, were gonna look stupid walking into the grocery store with you wielding a gun. I have money so deal with being good." Winking to tease before coming out.
Finding the path leading from the forest she slowly took to it and walked along keeping her body relaxed. Looking over at him a moment to see if he was coming and came up between two buildings before glancing around. Spotting the grocery store, and across the street a weapons store. Turning to look back at him and smiled, "We can play a little if you wish tonite?" Meaning the gunshop since she was wanting quite a few things and really didn't want to use the cash.
Stepping up onto the sidewalk she moved towards the entrance of the store and walked in. Keeping the list upfront in her head so this could be done quickly and they could get back to the house, clean and possible come back at nite to the other shop before she got them that meal
