Knox nodded at her with a faint smile to his lips when she spoke. Of course she didn't look like a fruity kind of girl, but one never knew. Appearances were often decieving. He wasn't much of one for really strong scents either, they made his nose itch. His tongue brushed over his lips, smiling lightly at her small tease. It wasn't as if he didn't plan on carrying most of it back anyway, it would just depend on how much they got. It was easy enough to stay behind her, to keep up with her. And soon enough she was making a comment about putting the gun away. He shot a glare in her direction, though didn't put the gun away. No, he kept it held up close enough to his chest that anyone could see it, that everyone would know he had it. He didn't care.
Though as they got closer to the supermarket he frowned. Everything seemed normal, but that was the thing.. It seemed normal. He didn't trust that normalcy to last for long. Spotting the weapons shop across the street he made a little face, shrugging lightly. "We can.." He said, letting his eyes trail over the street before back to her. He wouldn't mind coming back later tonight and raiding the shop for ammo for his gun, but really, he had plenty for now and it just depended on how exhausted he was from all of their cleaning.
He made a little face at her as she stepped into the supermarket without the least bit of caution. Crazy woman. As soon as he stepped inside he shifted his hands, tucking the gun into his waistband and pulling his jacket over top to hide the weapon. It was still in easy enough reach, he really didn't have much to worry about. Maybe it was just paranoia though, he couldn't seem to relax. His gaze darted everywhere, looking to the cashier that stood behind the long counter as if the woman was crazy before turning his attention back to Kat and following her though the store. How was it the cashier could look as if nothing were wrong in this town, as if nothing had happened. A sigh parted his lips as he walked behind her, letting her lead the way and grab whatever they needed while he watched for trouble that he couldn't stop expecting to come.

She tried to ignore the smile though had a feeling he caught on to the tease, not like she was hiding it really. Though that glare she caught but just shook her head and turned back around to lead them once more. 'Stubborn...why do they have to be stubborn?' was the statement repeating in her mind as they moved in closer. Sighing softly and looked back over at him when he finally did speak but could tell it was more an automatic response. But she could wait and ask him later on it right? Right. Taking one last look before slipped inside, but much as he thought she wasn't being cautious she was.
Just she wasn't as obvious as he was at the moment. Moving to grab just a small basket and headed to the cleaning supplies isle. Laundry soap with a waterfall scent, bleach, and more gloves incase. Glancing to see if there was anything else they need there before heading to personal hygiene. Making sure to get a shampoo that was mountain spring which worked. Than got a deodorant for herself and seeing as she couldn't find her original bag. Toothbrush and toothpaste before heading into the meat department.
"Okay anything particular you like or don't like meat wise? I can cook steak what ever cut you wish, ribeye usually the tender of them besides Prime rib of course. And than pick out if you want baked potatoes, or mashed, scalloped. You bring me what you like and we will go from there" Stopping as they reached the department and she was looking over the selections. They had some pretty nice cuts of meat she was impressed picking up a rib roast while waiting on him.

Knox caught the little shake of her head at him and couldn't help but to roll his eyes at her. No, she may not have been as obvious about it, but he was careful, he was cautious and for someone who always had their eyes open and ready, to him she didn't look prepared at all. He was watchful, peering into every aisle, looking at every face. He wanted to make sure nothing like yesterday ever happened again. Maybe it was just that Knox didn't like this town, maybe it was just that first impression thing. You know, first impressions last forever? His first impression of the city was terrible. He'd tried to help out Kat and it had earned him being drugged and stripped naked to be strapped to a table by some psychopathic doctors at the clinic. He couldn't help but to think of the rest of the town the same way.
Dark eyes landed on the cleaning supplies as they drew closer, reaching out to toss a bottle of Mop 'N Shine and Windex into the basket along with some air freshner before grabbing a mop. He wasn't too sure on how long the one in the house would last them. Thinking about it.. He paused, grabbing a second mop, a bucket and a bottle of Tilex too. The bathrooms looked pretty dirty. As they passed he grabbed a bag of paper towels, paper plates, plastic cups and toilet paper too. He made it look all too easy to balance everything as he walked. Instead of tossing a lot of the stuff he'd grabbed into her basket, he carried it. As they neared the personal hygiene he chuckled at her, watching what she grabbed for herself. He tossed a stick of deodorant, a toothbrush, shaving cream and a pack of razor heads into the basket. He had a razor, but the blades on it were dull, better to buy different heads than a whole new razor. He also tossed in a box of floss and a bottle of mouthwash before following along to the food. At her question he shrugged. "Whatever you feel like making, Kat. I don't care, honestly." He said with a little smile pulling at his lips. "I'll eat just about anything. Although-" he made a little face "-avoid cream and raspberries." He stated, nodding.
Another of his allergies. At least he wasn't going to hide it. Anything else she wanted to make was fine by him. Chocolate gaze darted around the aisles once more before landing on clothes. He was fine on clothes, really, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to be stopping by later tonight and snagging a couple of things. After all, he could definitely use a new pair of boots since his were so worn out. He turned another look to her, waiting for her to pick out what she wanted to cook. "Might wanna grab enough for a couple of days, that way we don't have to leave again too soon." He said with a little smile. It was obvious he was impatient. He didn't want to be in the store any longer than he had to be, he really wasn't liking it here and didn't want to stick around the store too long, just in case some of the crazies from the clinic showed up. And he still couldn't get the thought out of his head about how the place seemed normal, but how long would that keep up?

Kat was actually watching just they both had a different way of doing it, although seeing what was also grabbing. She furrowed her brows some before remembering that the items in the house..well the cleaning items might need to be replaced. So she had to agree with his logic there at least. Licking her lips some before adding a few more personal items she thought about last minute in the basket.
Glancing around the meat she heard his words but than the warning of what to avoid had her turning to look up at him. But she did nod before looking back at the meat. Finding a pork roast she liked and that looked rather nice, some prime rib cuts that were actually a bargain pack so more than one meal possible. Of course she grabbed some boneless ribeye and t-bones. Oh and don't forget 2 pounds of ground beef. The girl loved beef and seafood. That in mind she walked over to the counter at the seafood and ordered 3 pounds of halibut, 2 pounds of scallops both sea and bay. Than 4 lobster tails and a small thing of seafood salad for herself.
Since he was giving her free reign on the cooking and all she was going to do what she enjoyed. Making sure he was still with her she walked to the produce, grabbing some fresh onion and one thing of lemon. Zucchini, and squash, tomatoes. Before slipping down the spice isle the girl was actually faster than most in a store as she was already working the meals in her head.
Meat tenderizer, sea salt and pepper, tarter sauce of course and cocktail, some tyme, basil, parsley, organo, garlic, than whistershire, horesradish, 57 sauce. Spagetti sause and tomatoe though made sure it as the one with mushrooms and seasoning already in it. One pound of thin spagetti noodles. Not even being bothered by the heavy basket as she slipped down a few more isles not really sure but did grab some rolls. Found some cream of mushroom soup before glancing over at him."Is it any kind of cream so like this would bug you? Or butter and salad dressing?" Holding up the cream of mushroom soup she was going to grab. Nearly done she just needed to grab a few more things hey they do say a way to a mans heart it through his stomach. Well Knox was about to be spoiled beyond anything.
Katerina was above anything else and amazing cook and knew how to mix certain ingredients that while might not seem to work. Had shocking results.

Knox followed her around the store, still looking every which way for someone to pop out. Even with his hands full it wouldn't take him very long to drop it and grab the gun in his waistband, though whether it was fast enough to matter was another story. Dark eyes watched her as she grabbed various things, eyeing everything she picked up. She was really going to make the trip back home difficult on them, what with everything they now had to carry. Buuut he had told her to grab food for a couple of days, then again it looked like she was trying to gather up a weeks supply. He wouldn't complain though, not feeling the need to. At the question his eyes danced over the can in her hand, a faint chuckle slipping through his lips. "That's not real cream." He said taking the can from her and turning it so that the ingredients faced her. His index finger dashed across the list. "It's mostly just crushed up mushrooms with some water and gravy.. No cream." He said before reaching across the aisle and grabbing a bottle of Ranch dressing. "This on the other hand is fuuuuull of cream. Major no-no." He said, putting the bottle back.
"No butter.. OKay, rephrase. Margarine is fine, but tastes disgusting. Butter is bad, but spread? That's like.. All oil anyway.. tastes the same, but without the nasty after effects. Ice Cream, bad. Vitamin D Milk, bad. Yogurt, baaad." A smile pulled his lips up as he spoke. He'd never actually had to explain an allergy to anyone.. no one had ever cooked for him, well except his mother. "Anything you're not sure on, ask. If I see you throw something in and I know it's a bad plan.. I'll tell you." Most of the time his allergies were easy enough to tolerate. Raspberries? He could avoid them very simply. He could avoid cashews and sunflower seeds. Cream? That was the toughie. It was in so many different things that he really just had to watch it. Not that it would break him out in hives or swell his throat up. No, it wasn't that severe. Thankfully all of them were pretty mild.. well except the raspberry thing, that was easily death on a vine. The others would just leave him over the toilet, one way or another, for several hours at a time.. Not comfortable.

Yes she as busy moving through the store and just grabbing what she needed for the meals. Though as she did ask about the cream issue rolled her eyes a moment when he had to be a smart ass and show the ingredients, snatching the can away and putting it in her basket. Though than watched him grab the salad dressing and call it off limits, along with alot of other items she did use here and there. Taking a mental note on things befor she began to make her way to a few more isles. Grabbing some vegetable oil, and a few more ingredients though they did have the cans back at the house.
Licking her lips some softly before glancing back going by the dairy case, sure he couldn't but she still could. "Well you can't have this but I like it, but do me a favor. Go grab some bacon, carton of eggs and bread. Since I highly doubt you want pancakes or waffles for a breakfast, so we will just imprevise for now." Smiling some before grabbing a smaller carton of milk for herself, orange juice as well than though a little bit more about what else they might need.
Glancing around a few places for anything else though they had the snacks so they were good for now. So she with a last glance moved to go find him so they could pay and get this back to the house. Sure they had alot but he was the big shot saying he could carry it so.

He chuckled at her spout of annoyance at him when he began naming everything off, a mischievious sort of smirk on his lips. She was fun to be around, he had to admit that. Even when she was angry or annoyed. His hands crossed behind his back, sticking close to the hidden weapon just in case, as he followed her down the aisles for her to collect more. An almost pout pulled the full lips out when she spoke again. "Why wouldn't I want pancakes and waffles?" He asked, keeping the pout and looking slightly offended. "I could eat 'em.." He mumbled and turned away from her to go and find what she asked for. It didn't take him long to gather up everything, and when she went looking for him would find him with the pancake mixes, looking over the ingredients on different boxes.
Most of them were just flour and some seasoning, and only one of them wanted you to use milk, all the rest were just eggs and water. Why the hell couldn't he have them? He was making a little face when she walked up, staring at the back of one box in particular. It didn't need anything special, but you could make at least four different things with this one box of mix. Hearing her boots made him glance up, keeping ahold of the box of mix in his hand. "I've decided." He stated, following along toward checkout. "I want pancakes." His expression was serious, though slightly playful at the same time. He wouldn't admit it.. but he'd never had them. Not that he could remember anyway. His mother had stopped making breakfast for him when he was about 8 years old, letting him either fend for himself or grab something from school. And unfortunately the school never really had anything great for breakfast, at least nothing he could really eat.
He flashed another glance to the cashier as they set everything onto the counter for her to ring up. She'd made a little face at some of the things they'd grabbed (mostly the cleaning supplies), though it was only because she'd never seen either of them around. His eyes were trained on the girls face as he stepped just a hair closer to Kat. Paranoia wasn't fun. He was just glad that after they got all of this they wouldn't have to leave the house for a couple of days. That would certainly make things simpler.

Hearing him chuckle she growled some than just turned away from him grabbing the rest of what she needed and want. Though seeing the pout and than hearing him she raised a brow some softly before he continued and she sighed softly. He meant the water based which god tasted horrible. But if he really wanted them she could make them she supposes for him.
Though it was when she found him looking over boxes of mix before he turned to her holding one. Sighing softly before snatching it and adding it to the basket not saying anything and just turned heading back towards the front. They had enough for supplies, food and things now to get home clean. Possible slip back out and into the town later tonite for the weapons shop. She was really itching to get her hands on some more toys.
The girl had a thing for weapons thinking some about it as she set the basket on the counter. Her eyes finding the cashier seeing the odd look but let it go as she rang up the items glancing to Knox. Though seeing him still a little uneasy she shifted to turn so she was facing him more. Ignoring the female as she leaned closer into his neck and purred just soft enough for him to hear. Pressing a kiss to his cheek a smile gracing her lips as she pulled back.
Silently telling him to relax, "Total is $105.10, cash or credit for you?" Hearing the girl she turned back around and smiled, "Cash." Reaching into the top of course that wasn't the only location but no one needed to know that. Pulling out two fifties and a twenty. Handing them to the now slightly wide eyed girl knowing she wasn't expecting to see that. But ignored it and turned back to look at Knox while the young kid packed the groceries for them."Okay $14.90 is your change. Thank you and have a good day." Handing Kat the change before looking to the next customer as she stepped to grab some of the bags.
Her eyes looking to Knox again not really worried, they could easily carry all of this.

Even with the little kiss against his cheek and the soft sound in his ear, he didn't relax. Though it had more to do with the fact that someone had stepped up behind them. Nostrils twitched, taking in the man's scent; unfamiliar. That didn't mean a whole lot, he could still have been around the clinic. As Kat pulled away he flashed a quick, easy going smile to her, trying to ease her into thinking that he wasn't as tense as he actually was. Knox turned casually, as if he were looking for something on the small rack filled with chocaltes and gum to size up the man. Naturally the guy didn't look as if he suspected anything, and thankfully enough, Knox didn't recognize him. He only turned back toward the cashier when she thanked them, quickly taking the handle of the bucket (loaded with some cleaning supplies) and more bags than he should have had to carry. Knox only left Kat to carry the two mops and three bags, everything else had been loaded onto his arms without looking as if it bothered him at all.
"You too.." He muttered to the cashier as he waited for her to pocket the change and grabbed her load. As soon as she had her bags and the mops he shooed her out the door, only breathing a little sigh of relief once they'd passed through the glass door. "I hate stores.." He said, glancing toward Kat and steering them around the back of the store and toward the path through the woods that would lead them back to the house. "Honestly, how can someone run a friggin store like that? I mean, 5 years ago, fine. But come on. Half the people in the world don't have real money anymore.. and where are they getting everything?" He asked, leading them toward the path. If she couldn't tell, it'd been too long since he'd been around a large group of people. Knox tended to stick with one or possibly two, but it was usually for such a short time that it didn't matter much.
Honestly, most of the time when he passed through a town there was virtually nothing left. No people were there, half the buildings had crumbled. If he found a store, most of the time everything in it was way past it's expiration date, but he didn't care when it came to protien bars and the like, not like they really went bad stuck in their packaging. Maybe it was just the sense of so much normalcy here that worked him up so much. The way that people were living as if nothing had happened to the world, as if everything was okay. He shook his head, making a little face as he walked.

Kat frowned but left it alone though knew full well he wasn't calm just acting it for her. Shaking her head she took the change than glared at him for grabbing nearly all the bags. Picking up the mops and than the three bags before being ushered out by him. Her green eyes going to his face as they stepped out and he voiced his dislike for stores. Sighing softly she moved to go back around to the back while listening to him. "Knox...it has been some time since that explosion I mean people are trying to just move on. Who wants to think about that horrible tragedy? I know I don't so just calm down."
Shifting some and offered him a smile as they soon were on the trail and she was glad to be getting back. That house as going to take awhile to get cleaned enough and she hated the thought of that kitchen. It made her skin crawl just seeing that fridge but if they were staying there they needed to clean it up. Than possible slip out later on tonite to the weapons store or she could just torture him. That thought had her smirking before she shook it away making the turn along the path towards where their house was.
Of course keeping an ear perked incase anyone was following but nothing besides the woods and creatures that lived there. Turning to chance a look at him before she let it go back over the path, the guy was just so damn stubborn and annoying at times. Still she couldn't help enjoying the company and having him around. "So strip the beds and all let them wash while we clean up the rest of the house? Sound good?"

"No, I get it, people wanna move on and have normal, happy lives.." He started, turning his eyes back toward her with a frown at his lips. "But seriously. There really aren't enough people left in the world to manage factories... so where is all the product coming from? Especially things like this-" holding up the bag with the packaged, pre-cut meat in it "-or this-" the carton of milk "-or this-" the bag with the bread and the eggs "-where is it coming from? Aren't you the least bit curious as to how they have a full stock of food and nothing is expired?" He demanded.
This wasn't just paranoia, Knox had been on his own for a long time since the explosion. Everywhere he had gone, everything had been expired, how didn't that apply to this town. How was this place any different from the rest.. unless someone was going to feed him a line of BS about magical faries who made everything perfect again. "Tell me something, Kat. I'm betting you've been on your own for a while now.. Been going town to town, city to city, stealing food along the way from abandoned stores, or hunting your own out in the wild. You ever come across anything like this place before?" He asked, brows raising so far that they could have hit his hairline. No, this definitely wasn't just paranoia. Something wasn't right about this place. Every new thing he saw here only made his skin crawl even more. "I sure haven't.." He mumbled as he walked, once more letting her take the lead to get them back to the house in the woods.
He fell mostly silent for the rest of the trip, just stirring in his own thoughts and worries about the town while listening to the woods around them to make sure no one was following along behind them. He kept his eyes to the path, brows furrowed in concentration as he walked. With all of the bags and his mind already weighed down with all the thoughts, it was a miracle he could keep putting one foot in front of the other instead of spazzing out and just dropping to the ground. Hearing her, he shook his head to clear it before flashing her a brief smile that only lit up the lower half of his face. "That was the plan. I'll take the second floor and living room.. The rest of the house is your's." He stated. Basement wouldn't need cleaning, except maybe a quick dusting to clear all of the dust and dead air from the vast space. The second floor had the master bedroom and bathroom, plus two smaller bedrooms and closets in each, as well as a second, slightly smaller bathroom. The first floor had the kitchen, dining room, den, living room and a fourth smaller bedroom as well as a half bath. He was really taking more of the rooms, but Knox worked fast.. besides. She was being stuck with the kitchen. No way was he going near that fridge.

Kat frowned some at his words, though allowed her green eyes to look once more over at him a moment. Sighing softly although she could see his point she supposed. Biting on her lip a moment as they continued towards the house letting him continue with his views. Shrugging a little since she really didn't have an answer for him without sounding like an excuse. Though as he asked her a more straight forward question she cocked her head some to the side in thought. "I never really thought about that, than I really didn't until here go into the areas main population. I tend to not be that sociable when I can't remember shit about myself or anything else. Plus I kind of did have things with me that made it so I didn't need to."
wrinkling her nose some at the thought of her losing that damn bag she was carrying and all her stuff. It pissed her off really she hated not having her things with her and kind of felt naked if that made any sense. Shaking her head again before turning to look back out although hearing his words when she asked about the house. Well those eyes narrowed slightly and a low growl left her chest. "Oh no...your helping me in that kitchen first mister. Besides we need to get this food away and two heads are better than one to get the job done."
The hell he was leaving her with that kitchen alone, bad enough he would probably sneak out of doing the fridge. Seeing the house just up ahead and letting out a relief kind of breath, 'Oh I am soo wanting a nice hot bath after this is over.' She mused stepping up onto the porch, setting down the bag to get the door and still glaring at his little sneaky ass. Oh he would get it later for trying that stunt on her and followed in after him.
((ooc:Upto you can skip ahead of the cleaning it's fine with me.))

Knox kept himself silent for now, letting his paranoia run it's course. The further they got into the woods toward the house and away from the city the calmer he got. He could literally feel himself relaxing with every step they took toward the house. He frowned a little when she spoke, shaking his head. She made sense, but at the same time, how did she get anything she didn't have before like food, clothes and weapons without hitting the more populated areas... Then again, with most of the world in the state that it was, it was rare to actually find a well populated area. Whatever this place was, was probably the most populated he'd seen since before the end. Any time Knox referred to the implosion, he always called it The End. He wasn't sure why, but it just made sense.. at least to him.
He chuckled softly, looking over at her and shaking his head again. "Oh no. You're the one using the kitchen, you're the one cleaning the kitchen. I'll take an extra room before I do a damned thing in there." He said, smirking at her. "Besides, haven't you ever heard the phrase too many cooks in the kitchen? Just because two heads are better than one doesn't mean that two people trying to work in that small space around the fridge is better. It'd be smarter for one person to work in there. Just makes more sense that way." He said, flashing her a bright smile. He knew his logic in the matter was indisputable.
His tongue brushed over his lips before seeing the scowl that hit her lips at the comment. "Fine, alright. Since you're cleaning the kitchen and cooking dinner I'll clean all the rest. YOU just focus on the kitchen. Deal?" He asked, seeming in a much better mood as they crossed out of the woods and into the clearing before steping up the to house. Knox waited for her to open the door before stepping inside and taking the bags to the kitchen. He quickly set them down and sorted through, setting all of the bags with food on the counter before taking those with cleaners and bathroom supplies into the living room. He'd have her answer on the deal soon enough, but in the meantime rushed up the stairs, quickly rounding up all of the linens in the main room (including the curtains) and the towels from the bathroom and closet in the hall before taking them down to the wash. It didn't take him long to get the washer started, still amazed that there was actually running water here, and dash back to the living room to collect everything he needed for cleaning the main bedroom and the master bath.
Once he was back upstairs he snagged a granola bar from inside his bag before setting to work. All of the windows in the bedroom, bathroom and hall were opened, letting the fresh air in and the dust out. Knox spent an hour just sweeping and dusting the bedroom and bathroom, sneezing every couple of minutes. He cleaned the toilet, tub/shower and sink until everything shone that brilliant brand new white. It seemed as if this house really hadn't been lived in before the end. Maybe for a couple of months or so. As he worked he noticed that the drawers in the dresser were empty, the drawers on the nightstands were empty except for an old phone book and an old bible. Seemed more like a hotel than anything. Even the closet was empty except for a few plastic hangers and an old empty shoe box. Once he'd mopped the room, Knox slipped out with all of his supplies, closed the door and started on the next bedroom. He was a quick, but effiectent cleaner and within three hours had the entire upstairs smelling like a combination of pine trees and some weird Hawaiian scent. Next task, living room, unless she were going to have him actually help with the kitchen.. God he hoped not.

Hearing that damn chuckle said she wasn't about to like what he had to say and sure enough. Her eyes narrowed on his whimpy excuse to not clean the kitchen before shaking her head some softly rolling her eyes at that old saying he tried to throw in the mix as sell. "Oh you are the most impossible male I have been around, or it could just be your to afraid you'd suck at cleaning there. I mean you are a guy they tend to lack in some home qualities that woman don't." Smirking right back after she said it and turned her gaze slowly from him.
Though as he spoke again she just looked over at him and growled some narrowing those green eyes. "Your cruising to be hung Knox you do know that right? You are seriously cruising at it right now." Opening the door for them and stepped in moving the food together on the side watching as he grabbed the cleaning supplies he needed and vanished. Although did catch and see him run back down to the basement before the sound of a washer was heard.
Shaking her head she grabbed the gloves she picked up and got them on before she even thought about touching that fridge. But needed it done so the food could be put away. So as it was she jumped in feet first grabbing a large trash bag and getting anything and everything inside out. Didn't even bother to see what it was or if it was bad it stunk too bad to care anymore. That took her a good thirty minutes since a few things were stuck. Once it was empty fridge and freezer she grabbed the cleaner and brushes and got to work. Mostly holding her breath for the time being.
The fridge took a good hour and half before she was completely done having to go over a few places more than once. But now it looked and smelled a hell of alot better than before. So real fast she placed the cold food in their and the freezer to keep it fresh and than got to work on the rest of the kitchen. Grabbing the stove since she was going to need it, scrubbing it out thankfully not as badly as the fridge, than the microwave before starting on the cabinets. A few times he was probably hearing her coughing.
There was alot in the cabinets it would seem and she found it unfortunately. But thankfully aside from dust and cobwebs it wasn't all that bad. Working to finish them up, cleaning the windows and opening them up as well. Finally getting the floor so the whole room took her about 2 and half hours which wasn't bad. Sitting on the now freshly clean counters with some grapes in her hand. Popping them into her mouth while admiring her work. It looked really good and one wouldn't know it was that bad if they hadn't seen it themselves. Catching the scent from around the house and smiled a little walking back down into the basement to check on the wash.
Throwing it into the dryer and if there was another load putting it on before she found a radio. After dusting it off she came back up and set it in the window before plugging it in and turning it on. Some good dance music came on and sure enough Kat was moving her body completely in time with the music. The girl had the moves and could work her body like a professional just with out the training nor did she need it. Moving much like a stripper minus the naked part and a pole although with how she took their moved probably didn't need the later much. Her eyes close allowing the beat to lead her.

After he'd come downstairs he heard the music in the kitchen and just assumed that meant that she didn't need him. Thank God. Knox moved to the front door and opened it wide, quickly opening all of the windows and taking down the curtains to put into the hamper he'd brought down that held the drapes and linens from the bedrooms upstairs. He pulled the vacuum to him, wondering why in the hell the people who'd lived here had needed the damned thing, the only carpet he'd seen in the whole house was the small mat in front of the front door. Not like that really needed a vacuum. His tongue brushed over his lips, grabbing the rug and throwing it out onto the porch before firing up the vacuum and sweeping the dust from the couch, removing the cushions to be sure he got down into every crevice. He noticed in the process that the couch pulled out into a bed, which he promptly pulled out, removed the sheet and blanket to toss into the hamper before vacuuming off the bed. He then dusted everything, vacuuming the chair off, dusted the television and book shelf off. IN all the living room took him an hour.
Hah! And Kat had said men lacked the qualitie to clean. Bull. Knox could be pretty OCD about things being clean, so half the time he cleaned better than any woman he knew. Dark eyes danced over the room before moving to go and clean the small half bath, only spending about twenty minutes there before it was finished, then off to the little den. He spent another hour in there because there was so much. A foosball table, shelf upon shelf of books, board games, movies, discs for game systems that he hadn't been able to find yet. He wasn't sure he'd even attempt to see if they worked, didn't see much point to it. The sectional in the den was the hardest thing he'd come across cleaning, having to spend forever vacuuming the large gray thing off before he was satisfied with it. Only two rooms left, the dining room and the small bedroom. Dining room could be saved for last, easily.
As soon as he opened the bedroom door he knew he should have saved this one for last. Dark eyes narrowed as a wave of familiar scents hit him. He sneezed loudly at the same time his gaze took in something he didn't count on. With a startled gasp he stepped back, slamming the door along the way. "Kaaaaaat?" He called loudly enough for her to hear over the music in the kitchen, sounding a mixture of worried, relieved and amused all at once. An odd combination. Whenever she would round the corner into the small hall it would be to see him leaning against the wall across from the door. Knox raised a hand, pointing at the door. "We should probably just seal this one off... Unless you wanna spend some time lookin' for a shovel." He said with a shrug.
He waited a moment, blocking her if she did try to open the door. "I found the bird... and it's owners.." He said, making a little face. What he'd seen was a man and a woman, only looking to be in their mid-thrities, curled together in the bed. The smell of the flesh rotting away had long since gone.. it looked like they'd been dead for a long time, with the way their skin clung to their bones in a dullish brown. A bottle of wine with two glasses sat on the end table by the male, a bottle of pills lay empty beside the wine. A large white Macaw was lying at the bottom of it's cage, only a few fragments of it's feathers left, the rest had all turned to dust and flitted through the small cracks around the door and the keyhole by the lock. His nose wrinkled fighting off another sneeze. The dust had been so much heavier in that room, but that was due to the bodies all slowly turning into dust. Give it another three or four years and all that would remain was bone.
Dark eyes locked onto her face, waiting to see what she wanted to do. He was sure he could find some way to seal the room off, but if she wanted he would go in and find a way to clean it. God only knew what else was in that room. His arms crossed over his chest, taking in a slow breath through his nose, which only agitated his sinuses more, making him sneeze again.
