"Kat, I haven't had a 'real' meal in years. I've survived off this-" motioning to the bag of food "-shit without any problems." He stated, his nose wrinkling up at the idea of using the money to buy something else. "Two probems with that. One; Either we hit up a restraunt and hope to god they don't drug us, which by the way, also means heading into the city and hoping to god we can even find one. Two; Buy the food ourselves to cook and... where the hell are we gonna cook it at?" He asked, a brow arching. For him, his logic in the matter was undeniable. Knox highly doubted they would find a restraunt in that jank-ass town anyway.. especially one open as twilight set upon the world. And he really doubted they would find a good working kitchen to cook in. Besides, he hated cooking. He could cook, didn't mean he liked to cook.
He munched slowly on the power bar, grabbing a bottle of juice from the bag since he'd killed off the water already. He should be thinking about conserving it, but really, what was the point? It wasn't like they couldn't stock back up when needed, beside he didn't doubt it if there were rivers or streams somewhere in this blasted forest where they could get a drink. Hearing her, a snort echoed, shaking his head. "In the morning." He said simply. If she wanted to go searching for a comfortable bed to sleep in tonight, fine. He wouldn't hold her back, but he wouldn't go with her either. Not at night, not when they didn't know how many of those psychos from the clinic were waiting for them on the other side of the trees, not when he was wary about the city already. Those three simple words, and the tone he'd used them in said it all. She could go, he wouldn't.
Knox shifted a bit, leaning back against his bag and listening to wrappers crinkle under his weight. He ignored them rather easily, relaxing for the moment. He was tired, but it was unlikely he would fall asleep for another couple of hours.

Kat rolled her eyes before just shaking her head some at his words. Sighing some softly. "You have got to be the most stubbornest male I have ever met. But fine have it your way but I could of cooked it for us you big dork. And if you were listening I said there was a place there, but fine. Your getting a real meal tomorrow that I will cook, and you argue I might deny you sex."
Sighing some softly before she reluctantly opened the wrapper and ate her power bar, not particularly liking it. But she would deal, having a feeling if what had just happened between them was that instense. Her little threat would get his attention. Although she was dead serious about cooking a real meal, it was one thing she loved doing. And was sure they could find a place as well as food that was 'safe'. Hell she could go kill something if it came down to it. Hearing his voice and sighed some. Still munching on the powerbar before finally finishing it and curling up some where she was.
Yea he might of gotten dress she wasn't feeling the need or want to at the moment. Letting her eyes close once more she released another soft breath feeling her body relaxing a little more. Hell the girl was exhausted from their little ramp and could use the rest to fully, fully recover. Shifting a little onto her side, her hair draping over her face like a veil before she was soon asleep. The softness of her breathing a clear sign.

"Me? Stubborn? Never!" Knox said, pretending to look offended. The look was ruined by the mischievious glint in his eyes, the smirk that pulled at his lips moments later. He knew that he was hard headed, knew that it took a lot to convince him when he didn't want to do something. "I doubt you'd deny me it for long." He said, a grin stretching his dark lips back over his teeth. No, he really, really, really doubted that the girl would deny him sex for long, especially if he teased her properly. She'd be putty in his hands... and she knew it too.
"Tomorrow." He muttered. They could go and look for her safe house tomorrow, look for safe food tomorrow.. not tonight. He needed rest, exhausted from his journey and then from the fight, the run, their little fun. He needed a good night's sleep. A low sigh slipped past his lips as he rested back against his bag, glancing over at her when she shifted, his eyes landing on her sleeping face. He grumbled a bit, reaching out for his jacket, then laying it over the girl to cover as much of her as possible then leaned himself back against the bag again.
Knox stared at the sky through the canopy in the trees for several hours, waiting for the exhaustion to take him and pull him into dreamland. As usual, it took him hours to shut his brain down enough for him -to- sleep. ADHD tended to make people sleep less. Only an hour or so before the sun rose, his eyelids would sag before closing, unconciousness pulling him under. It really didn't matter what time she woke up, Knox only slept for about three hours, maybe four if the animals in the woods were silent enough.

Kat rolled her eyes at his never being stubborn comment and than had a mischief smirk on her face. Catching him tell her she wouldn't deny him was sheer delight because she could easily if he pushed her. Shaking her head and going back on her side, getting comfortable for the time being before she was literally out. Not even feeling the jacket being placed over her form though during the night she did pulling it closer. Snuggling into his scent even as she slept her unconscious was welcoming his presence ever for the moment.
She would be asleep for maybe as long as him if not longer depending on the sounds around them. Or if Knox woke her. She needed the rest as much as him plus she had alot more to recover from they he did. Granted with how they were messing around earlier she was healing, just her body needed rest as well to fully heal. Soft breaths slipping from her lips during the night, snuggling into the jacket more. More for the unconscious desire of being near the scent and not really to the weather temperature around them.
Even as the night slowly changed into morning and the slight warmth on the air surrounded them. Kat remained still completely relaxed and content although a soft, faint whimper slipping from her closed lips.

Knox rolled in his sleep about four hours after he'd actually fallen out, his head slipping off the bag and hitting the grassy earth under him. The movement jerked him awake with a low grumble falling from his lips. He could feel it, he was still tired, but he knew with the sun slowly creeping toward the canopy overhead that he would never get back to sleep. He groaned, pushing himself to sit up and rub at his face with his hands. Groggily, the young halfling pressed the heels of his hands into his eye sockets, sending an explosion of fireworks into his vision making him have to blink several times to clear his vision when his hands dropped to his knees. Chocolate colored gaze turned onto the still sleeping form curled under his jacket, making him chuckle. "Kat." He said her name simply, roughly as his voice was still clogged with sleep.
He dug around in his bag to find something to munch at for breakfast, then realized she hadn't moved. A smirk pulled at his lips, crawling across the grass until he was right next to her. "Kaaaat." His voice almost sing-song as he leaned down. A hand rose to brush the hair from her face before his lips caught hers for the briefest moment. "Wakey wakey." He chanted out in the same musical manner as before. Knox hadn't heard the whimpers when she slept, had woken up a little too late for those.. even if he had, the boy would have just attributed it to a bad dream anyway.

Kat didn't hear him hit the ground or the groan afterwards, she was still very much sound asleep. Curled up like a cat under his jacket although it barely covered half her body. A light breath slipping from her lips as her body slightly shifted against the ground just as he called her name. But she hadn't heard it and honestly wasn't wanting to get up right now. Comfortable, still tired and well just she didn't feel like it honestly.
So as he seemed to try a different approach she let out a breath as her name was sing-sung in her ear. Her hair pushed from her face and a pair of lips caught hers for a moment. Groaning out softly as her body stirred a little, ears fluttering before ultimately opening to look right up at him. "Mmm I take it your wanting to get going, ruin my lovely sleep?" Raising a brow at him before her arms shot out grabbing his neck and she pulled him back. Kissing him again still not aggressively but like it had been after their fun, before releasing him and smiling back.
"God right now I could go for a nice, long hot bath"

Knox laughed softly when she spoke, his nose wrinkling just a hair when he nodded. "Got that right." He said in that small laugh before her hands caught his neck and she pulled his lips back to hers. He held the kiss, much the same as it had been the night before with his hand placed lightly against her cheek. A grumpy sort of look flitted across his features when she released him, though pulled back without a word about it. Chocolate locked against green for a split second before he sighed, leaning himself back again to nod at her words. "Me too.. And clean clothes, more food, some entertainment.. Trust me.. there's a lot of things I could go for right now." He chuckled out, grabbing two of the small breakfast cakes from his bag and resting one of them onto her cheek before tearing the wrapper on the other and popping a bite between his teeth.
He dug under the food in his bag and grabbed a clean shirt, quickly pulling it over his head before clamboring to his feet to find his socks and boots, pulling both on and lacing up his boots. "Get dressed, woman." He said, looking back over at her and smiling. "You promised me a good meal." A grin pulled at his lips, watching her reaction as he reached for his jacket to pull off of her.

"Fine your no fun Knoxy, but I will get up." Yawning some after stealing the kiss and caught the look when she pulled away from it as well. Looking up at him a moment before smiling as he agreed agbout the bath, food, clothes all of the needed things they both wanted. The mention of entertainment and how he said alot of things had her shaking her head softly before she couldn't help laughing. Furrowing her brows when he placed the damn cake on her cheek before she snatched it up and ripped open the wrapper. Surprised how hungry she was till she had her snack gone in two bites.
Rolling her eyes at his impatience before shifting watching as he got dressed as well. Well finished she was the one naked after all. Feeling the jacket being pulled and she jerked it back. "Nope I claimed this." Raising a brow to his mention on her promise and she shifted up with a smirk playing over her lips. "I did indeed but something tells me you are a man who likes his dessert before his main course." Wondering if he would catch her meaning as she went to get her leather pants and pulled them back onto her form.
Moaning out softly since well the girl loved the feel of leather on her skin, grabbing the top and slipping it on as well. Rather a quick dresser for a woman and was soon leaning on the tree pulling her boots back on as well. Making sure the gun was still around and the blade she found. Before replacing them back into her hiding places. "Alright lets keep to the edge of the forest and go around from where we were yesteday. I've been here a few days so. This place is rather big legs see how things go away from the clinic.
Plus right outside the town is a few empty houses we can check out. One I'm sure will for fill all our needs." Licking her lips before standing back up and reaching for her bag.

"Knoxy?" A brow arched up slowly. "Knoxy?" The little nickname seemed to irritate him. "Dear god, think of something better if you're gonna give me a nickname. What am I.. a puppy?" He asked, his nose wrinkling slightly in his irritation. Knox turned his gaze away from her, taking another bite from the snack cake before balling up the wrapper and shoving it into his pocket. When he tried to pull the jacket away and she tried to jerk it back he scoffed and shook his head. A tiny laugh slipped past his lips. "Aha. No." He shook his head again, speaking before she could have the chance to interrupt him. "I've had this jacket for about.. oooh, six years. Not happening." Again his head shook, tugging the jacket from her grip and putting his arms through the sleeves.
There wasn't much that Knox got protective over, but the jacket, the knife on his hip and the watch around his wrist were all things he didn't usually let anyone else use. They'd all been presents from his mother before she died, and even knowing that she'd lied to him for the better part of his life.. well he was reluctant to give them up.. and even more reluctant to talk about his hesitance. Hearing the tease made him smirk, shaking his head lightly. "Maybe.." He teased back, he really was hungry though.. even if dessert sounded so much better right now, food was more important.. besides, he was still recooperating from the night before.
He'd already stood as she finally started getting dressed, grabbing up his back pack and slinging it over his shoulders before yanking the duffle bag into place. Hearing her, he nodded slowly, dark eyes searching around their little clearing for a moment, making sure nothing had been left as well as making sure he had the trail of where they'd come it at the day before. As soon as she was dressed and ready he nodded toward their starting point, quickly taking the lead. "Don't make me carry you today, huh?" He said with a wink. Clearly he hadn't minded it, and probably wouldn't mind it again, just had to put the jib in there.

Kat merely smirked at his reaction to the nickname she gave him before giggling at his question of whether he was a puppy or not. Biting her lip and just shook her head some, not really wanting to get into a fight over something stupid. "As milord commands so shall it be done." Looking at his reaction to the jacket not being given up though hearing him she reluctantly gave it back. A hand moving to lightly finger the locket charm adoring her neck for a moment before she just let it drop back to her side.
Making sure she had everything on and it looks right, the boots tied and as she pulled the backpack up on her shoulder rolled her eyes. "Men you are all impossible. Fine." Shifting it completely on her back she glanced over at him, before a growl came out and she shoved him some. "As if. I'm not even that heavy you jerk..." Glaring a moment before she started to walk a few feet ahead of him, clearly not liking the comment. He was insinuating she was heavy it sounded like. What female wants to be called heavy or fat? Certainly not this one as she let out breath and looked around a moment.
The forest was different in the daytime and she allowed the calmness back in and relaxed a little. Moving a hand up to brush the hair from off her shoulder and back behind her ear.

Knox rolled his eyes as she giggled at him, the look of irritation slowly slipping off of his face at the sound of her laughter. That wasn't the effect he'd wanted to have. He licked at his lower lip to wet it as she spoke, a brow arched before his eyes rolled up again. "Whatever." He said, a silent laugh slipping out with a smirk at his lips. He was having a hard time staying mad at her. It was intriguing for him, he'd never been able to tolerate another persons company for more than a few hours, especially a woman he'd slept with. His normal routine was to sleep with them and vanish before they woke up, never to see them again. It was slightly different with Kat.
He didn't feel as if he could just leave her alone out in the woods, didn't really trust the idiots around this city to keep her safe and -even though he didn't know why- he felt that she needed to be kept safe. Dark eyes caught her hand gripping at her locket, brows lifting as he stared at the little pendant before looking back to her eyes. "What's that?" He asked, eyeing it again. Hopefully she wouldn't become defensive about it. Not like he was going to steal it or anything, really what use did he have for it? The young halfling shrugged his thick shoulders up as she made the comment about men being impossible.. She was right, but women were too. That much couldn't be argued.
A laugh slipped past his dark lips as she shoved at him and walked away. "Oh, chill out, Katerina. Don't bust a vein. I wasn't calling you fat." He said, letting the laugh fade away to a look of sincerity, though there was still a light of amusement sparkling in his eyes. "I just meant that I'm already carrying two bags, add you and your bag..? Can be a little exhausting." He said to clarify what he'd meant. No. He definitely didn't think she was fat, how could he? Knox caught up to her easily, his hands catching her around the waist to pull her to a stop and her back against his chest. He leaned down so that his lips brushed over her cheek, a grin filling his lips. "Still mad?" He taunted, doubting that she would stay angry with him for long.

It was easy to pick up on the irritation slipping away and she smiled knowing he wasn't really annoyed at her. Licking her lips some softly at the whatever before shaking her own head some. Wondering herself why they hadn't parted ways, she usually couldn't stand to be around males after sleeping with them. They became clingy or at times a little more possessive and she didn't like being possessed. But Knox, Knox just had her so confused and mixed up that she couldn't help wanting to stay with him. It slightly scared her to think she needed him, since she had never needed a male in her life before.
Not paying much attention to the fact she grabbed her necklace till he asked and she froze. Blinking a moment to look back up at him before pursing her lips. "It's..it's the only thing I have that gives me a piece of who I am. I've had it since well I guess since I was little. My name is carved on it which is how I know my name even. Katerina Melina Night." Moving her hand to show the front with Katerina and flipping it to show the middle and last name. Unsure what else to say and looked away.
Yes she was annoyed with him and hearing his laugh had annoyed her to no end. Growling some and not even answering when he said he wasn't calling her fat and tried to explain. Actually understanding but didn't want to let him know that right now, although right as she went to take another step. A warmth caught her around the waist and she was soon pressed with her back against his chest. Sucking in a breath feeling his lips brush her cheek before he spoke.
Turning her head some and captured his lips briefly before turning in his arm. "No...as much as I might want to be I can't stay mad at you." Reaching her hand to brush his cheek softly with her fingers unable to drop her gaze from his eyes.

That as the biggest reason he had trouble sticking around women he'd slept with. They became clingy and wanted to be at his side all the time. It was annoying and he didn't deal with clingy well, or tears, or possession. Most women seemed to think that just because they slept with a man that they had some kind of claim on him. Wrong. It took a lot more than one night of passion to lay any kind of claim on Knox. He nodded lightly, looking over the necklace again as she lifted it and spoke. "It's something at least." He said with a frown pulling the corners of his mouth down. "Why do you think you don't remember?" He asked, that brow arching lightly with his question. Knox figured it probably had something to do with the gases that had leaked up through the earth.
His arms held her tight against his chest to prevent her from slipping away in her own irritation, but he could tell that a lot of it had ebbed away. Knox leaned in, his lips catching that soft spot just under her ear before she turned. He returned the kiss once she'd turned, his arms curling her frame close to his. A snicker slipped past his lips, a brow perking up at her words. "Oh really? You can't be mad at me?" He said, a mischievious look flitted across his features. "I'll bet I could come up with a hundred different ways that would change that statement." He said with a grin pulling at his lips. And sure, he could come up with probably a million ways to change her mind, he didn't want to.. Not yet anyway.
Knox knew that at some point he would do the same thing to her that he did to all the others and push her away so that he could continue on his own path. But right now.. right now he was feeling insanely close to the girl and didn't want that to fade away, not yet anyway. His eyes locked onto her's, grinning down at her at the feel of her soft hands brushing over the stubble that had started to form on his cheeks. He didn't say a thing, though she'd probably saw it in his eyes before he even leaned in. Once more his lips caught hers, one hand raising to hold the back of her neck. His lips molded easily to hers, his tongue brushing over her lower lip. He held the kiss just long enough to leave him a little short of breath before pulling back from her and winking. "Let's go.." He said softly, disentangling himself from her arms to move back along the path out of the forest.

Kat fingered the necklace once more before nodding to his words and closed her eyes a brief moment. Sighing some at his question befor she shook her head a little and glanced back up, "I couldn't even tell you honestly. Given I can't even remember my parents, my home, hell even my childhood. It's like nothing existed for me till I was well as you see now. Of course the times I wake up not remembering things from when I black out doesn't help either." Leaning into his chest and inhaled his scent.
A faint smile crossing over her lips when he returned the kiss and she felt his arms curling around her form keeping her there. Having to hold back a giggle at his questioning the not being mad at him and shrugged. "No I can't stay mad at you. And don't even think about trying mister." Smiling up once more at him and held his cheek in her hand a moment. Yea he was different and she couldn't understand why she acted different with him.
Knox was handsome that much was obvious and well talented but she knew it was more than looks and stamina. She just wasn't sure why and couldn't help keeping her eyes locked on his feeling her eyes closed as he seemed to move in. Than as his lips caught hers she shifted her hand around to his hair and held him in the kiss longer. Both of them molding to the other perfectly and she let out a soft moan of contentment through the kiss. Feeling his tongue as hers rushed out to brush against, having to catch her own breath after and smiled. Seeing the wink and blushed before dropping her arms and following him.

"Kat," he started, his expression serious as his brows furrowed in thought, "What's the first thing you actually remember?" He asked, casting a glance over at her. His teeth grazed his lower lip as he thought, maybe there was something he could do, something that he just wasn't seeing.. something she had overlooked herself. What? He couldn't be sure just yet. His finger tapped his chin, processing things before another question slipped past his lips. "And how often does that happen? You waking up and not remembering anything?" He asked, keeping his eyes on the ground before he'd kissed her.
He couldn't help but smile at the blush that had touched her cheeks, it looked good there. He'd have to remind himself to put it there a little more. Without even trying he walked through the forest faster than her, easily climbing and hopping over fallen trees and branches, skittering around ferns and small bushes. Maybe it had more to do with his longer legs, or that he'd just been working through forests a lot longer than the girl had, or any number of things. It'd taken them nearly an thirty minutes to get to their little clearing at a run the night before, and at his quick pace they reached the edge of the forest in just over 45 minutes. He didn't talk as he walked, focused on making sure they followed the same path out that they had in, not wanting to get lost out here in the woods of a strange place, that would really blow. Before they could get into view of the city he stopped, peering through the green toward the buildings as he waited for her to catch up. "Best bet is to stick to the trees, out of sight of the city, but still giving us the ability to see them. That way we'll know if something is coming.
You know the direction we need to go, lead on woman." He motioned for her to take the lead now. It was obvious he wasn't going to enjoy her slightly slower pace, even if it were only by a hair. Hell if he could run the whole way there, he probably would.
