Fae
Background: Meaning otherwordly in the English language, (fae, fey, fay) able to read future. Most popular image is small, winged, human like female creature most likely naked. However they are not though akin to creatures with wings in the mystic realm like pixies ones associated with malice and/or mischief. Fae are what you would call 'noble'. Having talents from magic to metalwork and even beyond. They are a creature intune with nature probably the wisest and to some the most fairest with the ability to live extremely long lengths of time. However, they can die because of wounds, poison but still will heal more easily than humans. Playful in nature fae do have a very sad way to die and that is if they fall in love with a mortal and than have their hearts broken. Unfortunately death is the aftermath for the mortal as well because of causing such a pain to someone and can only be bypassed if the fae wishes it as sort of a Last Wish kind of thing.
The name 'fae' is a collective term as well instead of making one specific race. Of course classification for them will include behavior the old light vs dark notion. Seelie Court (Light) vs Unseelie (Dark) being one such widely used way. As does stating how they live.
Those creatures encompassed into the 'fae' but not limited to:
Asrai
Bluecap
Boggart
Bogie
Brownie
Cluricaun
Dwarf
Elf
Fairy
Gnome
Goblin
Gremlin
Hob
Imp
Kelpie
Knocker
Kobold
Leprechaun
Menehune
Nisse
Nixie
Nymph
Ogre
Phooka
Pixie
Redcap
Selkie
Sidhe (pronounced "shee")
Sprite
Tomte
Troll
Trow
Will'o'Wisp
Xana
(So feel free to consider your race if one of the above to be under the fae instead of a seperate one)
Characteristics/Abilities/Diet/Lifespan/Breeding: Varies for each 'fae' species.
