As the water cascaded down her form, she exhaled slowly and softly just allowing her mind to go blank. But that was alot harder than she first though and gave up instead choosing to think some on this whole ordeal. Brushing her tongue some over her lips she slowly stood up as the water was down hitting along her chest and she stared out not really at anything particular. She had been so upset when he just left, hell she was still a little upset which wasn't like her. Normally she wouldn't give a damn, but it was all so different with Knox.
Knox was someone that while neither had wanted it to happen had somehow managed to capture her heart. Even without her really knowing and she couldn't help feeling her heart speed up. 'He really has a hold on my heart, how the hell is this possible?' She though before moving to grab the shampoo lathering up and still thinking even as she grabbed the soap for her body.
It was seeming so easy for her to accept that this was happening, that they were...well together? She wasn't even sure what they were since neither of them really put a title on each other. One thing she knew was that she did love him, could easily tell that in her heart. Another smile lacing over her lips.
When she finally rinsed off her body and hair before stepping out and grabbing the towel she was smiling. Right now she was determined to see this through and prayed it worked. Pulling on her bra and panties before slipping on the sapphire blue little gown. Pressing against the dress and smiling as it came just about mid thigh than again she was already tall. Drying off her hair some she quickly twisted it up before clipping it and grabbed her dirty clothes.
For now she carried them barefooted down the stairs humming some softly. Before catching his hum and smiled walking into the kitchen to a wonderful smell and smiled. "Smells good. Be right back going to put these down stairs to wash than I will be up to help." Not giving him a chance before she was down the stairs.

He barely heard her humming as he worked, mostly because of the low whistle that was pushing past his lips. Knox wasn't even sure why he remembered the tune. His mother had sung a song to him when he was a child, every night before bed until the day she'd died. He'd long since forgotten the words to it, but he still remembered the tune and the way her voice had sounded as she sang. The whistle from his lips didn't hold the same melody, the same softness and love. His whistle was more haunting than anything. But the tune that played through his head was the sound of his mothers voice. Knox didn't know why he had even begun to whistle out the song, it had just happened while he was working.
He grabbed a spatula and stirred the potatoes and sausage just as Kat rushed through the kitchen on her way to the basement with dirty clothes in her hand. The washer wouldn't need started, after all the only things in there were her clothes, his clothes and his towel from that morning. Nothing that would need washed right away. He'd said nothing, just continued whistling and working. Knox set the spatula down inside of the skillet and turned, making sure their plates were set at the table and forks were set beside them. He moved to the fridge and peeked through it again before looking into the freezer and grabbing the can of frozen orange juice to toss into the sink under scalding hot water, then grabbed a pitcher and two tall glasses to set on the counter beside the sink.
When she emerged from the basement looking as if she wanted to help he waved his hand at her to shoo her away without breaking stride from his work or without stopping the tune. His fingers raised to brush through his hair before stirring the potatoes again. Only another three or four minutes until they were finished. Good. The smell of the grease and the potatoes was making his stomach turn with hunger. He couldn't remember the last time he had eaten, or even what the last thing he'd eaten was. The food in the house had all gone to Kat when she wasn't speaking with him, save for the few small things he'd eaten.
Knox turned the hot water off and switched it to cold as he yanked the can of orange juice out of the sink, opened it and dumped it into the pitcher before adding the cold water and stirring it. Once it was stirred he filled both glasses and put the pitcher into the fridge, then carried the glasses to the table. As he passed Kat, Knox leaned over and pressed a kiss to the top of her head, flashing a grin and a wink at her as he turned back to his work and the haunting tune from his lips. If she were looking close enough as he'd passed her, she would have seen that familiar sparkle and blaze to his eyes. Knox was back to the way he'd been before, before everything had happened. With the determination to be with Kat, no matter what happened, came a familiar sense through himself. Things were gonna be tough, he knew that. But when in his life hadn't they been? A few moments later he flicked the stove off and grabbed the still popping and crackling skillet to carry over to the table.
After dishing out heaping scoops of the scalping potato/sausage mixture onto their plates he dropped the skillet into the skin and waved a hand at her. "Have a seat. Dig in. Enjoy." He said with a smirk before settling into his own chair and inhaling deeply.

Kat as she passed through the kitchen caught the scent of something delicious but first she wanted to get her laundry downstairs. Humming still to herself as she skipped slightly down before looking over near the machines than let out a breath. Looking at what was there before separating a few things but saw quickly there wasn't much to do so she left it. Heading back up to see if she could help him at all.
Although him shooing her had the brow raising before she rolled her eyes and slipped over to the table. Taking a seat and just enjoying the view of Knox cooking and moving around the kitchen so easily. Her dark green eyes gazing at his form before she let out a breath and closed her eyes for now. She hadn't been sleeping all that well since they got back and really just wanted a night to catch up.
Letting out a breath she damn near passed out before feeling him at the table and slowly opened her eyes. Looking to the plates he was filling before smiling up at him. Nodding some as she inhaled softly and heard her stomach rumble before giggling a little. "Oopsie....but damn this smells good Knox thank you." Looking up a moment and smiled before picking up her fork and taking a bite.

Only seconds after he'd sat down Knox jumped back up and moved to the fridge, grabbing the ketchup from the door before moving back to his seat. He didn't know how life would go on without ketchup. If it ever got to the point that they stopped making the stuff, he may well have to end the rest of the world. Ketchup was a necessity. Well, at least for him. A laugh slipped passed his lips when she spoke, shrugging his shoulders up briefly. "Of course it does. Why wouldn't it?" He asked with an arch to his brow.
Knox slathered his meal in ketchup then speared several potatoes onto his fork and popped it between his lips. "Tastes pretty damned good too." He said around the mouthful of food. He could tell she was tired and figured a night of sleep in their room rather than in the den was what she needed. If need be he'd still sleep on the couch until she was more comfortable again. He knew that there had to be something going on in her head.. Especially since Johunas had disguised himself as Knox for a time and tricked her. He wouldn't doubt it if there were still moments when she had to wonder if he was the real one.
But if Knox knew shifter power like he thought, then the man wasn't able to change into him again without touch and his Knox-like appearance would have worn off long before now. He just had to hope that he had all of his facts straight on the shifter.

When he jumped up she jerked her head in the direction before seeing the ketchup and was giggling. Her eyes filled with amusement at the sight and just sat there shaking her head highly amused. Taking another bite of her food before having a long drink. It all was delicious and she was thankful for something on her stomach. Hearing his words and rolled her eyes again. "Its very good so let that ego go mister cook." Going back to her meal although she did grab the ketchup just adding only a little not like him. It was good on certain items.
Smiling some though suddenly went quiet and inhaled a little, yea she was exhausted and that bed sounded perfect right now. Licking her lips some she glanced up at him, no he was partly right. She did know it was him, now that she was calmer and focused she could tell the difference in the scent. The touch, the tone and one thing she didn't think about till now his eyes.
Sure they might of held Knox's darker color but as she thought more about it. There was a hint of green in them as well but she was so focused and upset she didn't even think about it till now. Moving a hand up to brush the hair from her shoulder and looked back across the table at him. "Umm...Knox....can....would you...Ugggg WouldyoupleasejoinmebackinthebedImisssleepingbesideyou." Shaking her head after she rambled that out and turned back to her food. Knowing her cheeks were red and just prayed he didn't laugh or something.

"Me? A high ego?" He asked as a brow arched up slowly, though the grin on his lips said that he was of course joking. Knox knew he had too high of an ego, hell somewhere his ego should be illegal. Thankfully it wasn't. A laugh sounded around the kitchen from him as he went back to his meal. He ate faster than her as usual so by the time she finished he'd already stood and rinsed off his plate before running a small load of water to wash the dishes off while she ate.
He couldn't help watching her from across the kitchen, catching that nervousness to her and raised a brow in confusion. Kat was never nervous and he sure as hell didn't see any reason why she should of been now. And then she began to stutter which confused him even more. His tongue swept across his lower lip as he watched her, waiting until she'd finally spit out what she'd wanted to say so quickly that he'd almost missed it. Knox stared at her for a moment with narrowed eyes, deciphering what she'd said before it clicked and he couldn't stop the smirk that slid across his lip. He actually had to bite down on his lower lip to keep himself from laughing out loud.
Knox went back to doing the dishes and was silent for a moment to keep himself from laughing. He took in a slow breath as he rinsed his plate before nodding."Of course I can, Kat." He said softly, looking back to her. The smile was gone though a hint of amusement lingered behind his eyes. He hadn't been laughing at her, just the way she had asked only moments after he'd had the thought of sleeping on the couch.

Kat didn't mind him eating faster than her honestly he always been a speedy eater. So she took her time, keeping her eyes for the moment on the plate smirking a little at his playful questioning to her mention of his ego. Glancing over at him with a raised brow before rolling her eyes and turning back to her food. Kat wasn't even going to make a comment. Brushing her lips some with her tongue.
The meal was delicious and she couldn't help thinking he came up with something rather good even with the small amount of food they had. Thinking of another shopping trip unaware or else just not reacting to him watching her or his look when she had speedily spoken about the sleeping arrangements. Sighing softly after taking the last bite and shifted up, taking her plate over to the skin to clean. Or if he took it would let him, finally looking up and smiled when he answered.
Green eyes blinking a moment when she took note of the amusement in his eyes and couldn't help wondering why. Studying his face as a hand came up and brush against his cheek for a moment, "Thank you Knox." Smiling still unsure why they hell she was nervous, stuttering or anything it was annoying for one and just odd. But she quickly shook it off and leaned up kissing his cheek. Turning after to make her way out of the kitchen and back to the den with her juice. Still sipping on it for the time.

Knox took her plate from her and washed it out in the sink before rinsing it and putting it with the other clean dishes. After draining the sink he turned back to her, feeling her hand along his cheek. A soft smile formed on his lips as he looked down at her."Not a problem." He said with a small shrug of his shoulders. His hands found her waist as she leaned up to kiss his cheek before she pulled away with her juice. He watched her walk away for a moment then turned his attention to the sink. His tongue brushed over his lips as he stood there, just staring at the sink.
After a few minutes he shook himself from the thoughts and made his way out of the kitchen. Knox found her back in the den and dropped down onto the couch beside her, one arm draped lazily in his lap and the other thrown over the back of the couch. He kicked his feet up onto the table and stared off into space. He said nothing because his thoughts were elsewhere. And even if they'd been close, he wouldn't have known what to say anyway.

When he took the plate she just let it go and smiled before having him turn to her. The hand at his cheek stayed even when his where resting at her waist for the moment at least till she kissed his cheek. Green eyes meeting dark chocolate before she pulled back and walked from the room. A few sips of juice slipping past her lips as she found the couch and took a seat. Feet pulled up under her for now looking no where particular but out the window.
When he came to join her she looked over at him a moment before tilting her head slightly. Leaning forward she put the juice down on the table and focused her attention on Knox. Shifting some before a hand came to rest on his chest and she was staring up into his face. "Knox? Knox what's wrong?" Slightly worried for a moment or two something was bothering him. Keeping her hand along his chest though did shift again this time to lean against him. Resting her head on his shoulder waiting for an answer.

Knox had let himself fall into a little mini-trance while he was lost in his own head. Dark eyes rested on the far wall just above the trim on the floor at a tiny bubble in the paint. He really didn't even see what he was looking at, even though his gaze rested on that spot his eyes held that distant look. Without thinking about the action and without even realizing he'd done it, his hand raised to rest over hers when hers touched his chest. It was a combination of her voice and her chin on his shoulder that brought him back to the present, back to reality.
He shook his head lightly to clear it before turning the chocolate colored gaze onto her face. A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. "Nothing." He said with a shake of his head. "Nothing at all." He turned his head to press a kiss against the tip of her nose with a grin. "Just lost in thought." He said with a tiny shrug of the shoulder not supporting her chin.

Worried, concern was peeked in the green eyes of Kat while she watched him for any sign, yet getting nothing. If Knox wanted, hell if she wanted they could easily how what they were truly feeling and right now it worried her. But after she had placed the hand at his chest his was suddenly over it and had those green orbs looking a moment to the scene. It actually had a smile crossing her lips for only a moment before she moved to rest against his shoulder.
Feeling the slight shake before he was looking down at her and the smile tugged on his lips. Nodding against his shoulder in understanding before feeling the kiss to her nose and wrinkled it some."Should I be concerned you becoming lost in thought my dear Knox? You know that is never good when one lets that happen." Trying to tease him a little before shifting her head up and leaned in closer to capture his lips for a moment.
She could never get tired of those lips, or of him that much she was sure right now. Something about him just had her locked, sealed and accepting it all without any issue, concern or question. Which was odd in and of itself yet Kat couldn't help finding that a nice change to how she normally was always too closed off. Still this was only with Knox, anyone else saw the true Kat she was always and that was fine with her. He held her in a whole other view as she did him. Growling against his lips before allowing the fingers in their hands to lace still over his chest.
Who would of thought that deadly minx could actually have a heart and even more of a shocker love some one. But honestly she did, she loved Knox as scary as that might of been originally there was just no way to deny it anymore. Heaven help anyone who tried to tell them otherwise or get between them, if there was one thing Katerine was it was fiercely protective. But than she had to be how else did she keep herself from getting hurt, hell the only one who could ever truly hurt her now?
Knox.

Knox gave her a little half smile at her question, shaking his head a bit. "Concerned? Nah. Just got a lot to think about lately, ya know?" He asked, the smile growing wider as he gave a little squeeze on her hand then returned the kiss. His free hand shifted up to cradle her cheek so that he could pull her closer. It was true, he did have a lot to think about as of late. What with them being an item- or whatever it was called -now, right? Knox had never been truly protective over something that didn't belong to him, namely his guns and food. But people? Well, people could handle themselves as a general rule, couldn't they?
And even if they couldn't, what problem was it of his? Knox didn't get involved in other peoples business or lives, he didn't deal with other peoples drama and he certainly didn't stick his neck out for anyone but himself. Kat.. Well she was something different, now wasn't she? He'd stuck his head out for her on numerous occasions already and even though he didn't realize it or wouldn't even admit it, he was becoming quite protective over her.
His thumb brushed over her cheek as he held the kiss, not deepening it or pushing for anything.. just kissing her. Which was unusual for Knox, normally he wanted something more, but he was alright with just this for the moment. He still shivered at the thought of a girlfriend, it was a very foriegn word for him, but someday -maybe- he'd be used to it.

Watching him she couldn't help but calmly nod at his words before smiling a little. "I suppose there is much for us both to be thinking about...especially...never mind." Dismissing the thoughts on the dreams she was having, not really wanting to put either of them in bad moods. She had been in one for awhile as he had and it was making her almost sick honestly. Something else that worried her a little since Kat rarely got sick, but could that be the same thing? A light breath letting it all get pushed to the back of her mind.
Feeling the squeeze back to her hand before he was shifting and pulling her closer, Kat of course going willingly. Liking the touch against her cheek and founding her own free hand slipping up to his neck. Teasing the hairs with a playfulness while not moving to deeper the kiss either. A warmth slowly spreading over her form, but not in a sexual way surprisingly. It was just a warmth, a protective warmth surrounding her in its hold and allowing her to feel she was safe.
Sure this was new to Kat as much as Knox and she wasn't really thinking much about the titles. OKay so they weren't just acquaintances, or sexual partners it went beyond that so why try and pin a name to what they were? It would only drive them both nuts for all she cared they were just Knox and Kat companions perhaps bound by fate.

Knox shook his head lightly to her words, figuring he would come back to that subject later. For now he just wanted to enjoy this moment where nothing bothered him, where he was totally and utterly consumed by everything that was Kat. A faint breath slipped past his nostrils as he held her close and let his lips brush over hers. The hand at her cheek shifted to brush back through the blonde curls then to play with them by twisting his fingers into them and letting them bounce back into place. That was honestly one of the many things he loved about her, her hair. He didn't know why, but he absolutely loved her hair.
A small shiver swept through him as her small fingers found the hairs at the back of his neck and teased them. His fingers squeezed hers again, holding tightly -though all the same time loosely- to her hand. Slowly he pulled back to break the kiss and let out a content sigh as he did. His forehead came to a rest against hers, just sitting there for a brief moment before his eyes fluttered open and danced over her face with a little smile teasing at his lips. "Hey." He whispered and winked at her while wiggling his eyebrows in an old Vaudeville manner. He couldn't help but laugh at himself.

Yes later was a much better plan since right now she wasn't nor was he seeming to be in the talking mood. Than again since they meet the pair were more a physical kind of pair than anything, but it just worked for them. Now..now Katerina wasn't sure just knew it went a whole lot deeper than just being physical with him even her heart wasn't going to allow that any longer. Not that she minded or thought he did since well they seemed to prove that right now with the kiss. Since neither had deepened it nor pushed for anything else.
Smiling though when his fingers were sliding through her silky hair and wrapping them around it. She always did a weakness for her hair being played with, not that Knox would ever use that against her. The shiver that rushed over him thought she loved causing and continued attacking those small hairs at his neck. Though lets face it, Kat was a little minx.
As he pulled back her own eyes stayed closed, breathing a little heavier for a moment coming out. Slowly as she relaxed and kept her forehead up against his she allowed them to once more be revealed and smiled at him. His eyes always were a nice feature on him, than again nothing about Knox was unwanted or unpleasing to the eyes. Giggling some at his 'hey' before a warmth spread over her cheeks, down her neck before vanishing under her top.
That wink and wiggle of his eyebrows spoke enough volumes with this demoness. "Hi. Umm..do you want to stay down here a little longer or, go upstairs? I don't really care just whatever you feel like." That nervousness was back slightly and it was just weird to her, than again had she ever loved anyone before. No. So she didn't get the practice so everything was just too damn new.
