Alright I know many wish they knew how to make their posts longer and increase the detail so that it helps bring the rp to life better. Well this is where you can learn just that and see the difference a few slight changes can have on a post.
Adding detail and see how it can make a dramatic difference
1. Okay first what you want to give in the posts is some description on your particular character. Now granted we can see the images but you still want to draw the reader in and help them picture in their head this person like you do in a book. We don't get pictures we get detail. Now lets take a look at a intro post W/out the detail than one with so you can see the difference.
a. Now lets see the post with more detailed added in and see how it flows and draws you in better.
b. Now you see how the post was made even longer and added in just some detail to make it understandable easier. You know that it was a male who entered looking to buy a wrench, his clothes had grease on them which told he as a worker. Most likely on his car. He was kind and courtesy to others he came around. So see even with just a little bit more added you went from a mystery person to a male mechanic possible shopping for a wrench to get his job done.
Giving emotions detail and bringing posts to life while also setting the stage for play.
2. Of course another way to give detail is by expressing detail of emotions in your post. Utilizing all of your senses can help paint and build an even more detailed post for others to enjoy. Plus it kind also kind of set the mood and tone for the story that way especially if your the first player posting or even if your not. So again we will do just a basic post than another of the same one only with the added emotions to show the difference.
a. Now lets add some emotions and descriptive detail into the post and see how it really could of sounded.
b. Now you have a clear image of what was going on in the post and also the time, weather and emotions of the person in the post. Misty who is of medium height is having a lovely walk on a bright, sunny spring day. The birds are singing, the falls playing their musical choir to aid her in finding peace that she so wishes for when alone. And it sets up the other players in knowing how to react to Misty. Even if its a negative way they still have the image to work with for their own posts. You even learn that the person has no thoughts on their mind so obviously everything is going well in their life. Adding how your feeling, what your thinking are other ways to help the players understand your character and how they might interact with you.

- As the door to the shop opened a few would turn seeing another walking in. Quietly making their way over to the section they needed. No words were exchanged just yet as they glanced over the shelves trying to locate the exact item they wanted. Finally pulling out off the package they turned making their way over to the line to check out. Standing quietly waiting their turn as they glanced over the item once more reading the instructions before getting home. As their turn came up the item was handed to the person at the counter and a wallet was slipped out of a back pocket. Taking the exact amount and laying it down. Once their change was given back they took the item and walked out the door.

- The heavy glass front door was pushed open causing the alert bell to sound as new customers arrival. A tall man about mid-twenties would step into the shop smiling softly to a few random customers who had turned their attention towards him. Dark brown hair falling down about shoulder length was bouncing gently as he moved about. His blue eyes taking in the isles of items but only wanted one particular piece this day. As he moved across the room towards the tools department his black work boots tapping slightly on the white tile floor. His white t-shirt clinging over his broad chest was stained in grease most likely from a car having a tune up. Though with the black jeans it was harder to notice any stains they might of had at the moment.
His feet finally carrying him to the wrenches he stopped in front of the rack letting his eyes wonder over the selection for the size he was searching for. One arm crossed loosely over his chest while the other rested with the elbow on his wrist and hand at his cheek. Tapping against the tile before he shifted his weight and reached out his right hand for the wrench under the quarter-inch rack. With one last look at the racks and his item the man slowly made his way out of the isle, passing a woman and child also shopping and allowed them to get by before he continued towards the line.
The sun was shining through the large panes windows giving the inside a soft warmth for this summer afternoon. As the man stopped behind two females waiting quietly for their turn to check-out. His gaze slipping around the shop as employees and customers talked back and forth to find the items they needed. A faint smile coming from him as he stepped up to take his turn and pay for the wrench. Setting it down for the cashier as he asked if the man had found everything he needed. Smiling again with a nod as he answered. Reaching into the back pocket of his jeans for his wallet and hearing the total pulled out a ten dollar bill as it was all he had in small amounts. Passing it to the cashier he waited before taking his change and purchase with him as he left the shop.

- Misty walked slowly through the garden, her eyes gazing out over the flowers blooming. The sun shining brightly in the sky added to the look quite nicely. Even the animals were expressing their feelings without a worry of other being around. Misty's footsteps taking her over the stone path as she inhaled a faint breath. Swinging her arms loosely along her side as they brushed against her skirt when she moved. It was just another one of those days that she enjoyed and took full advantage of it whenever possible. Slowly her path would cross with that of the falls and finally she would make her way towards the bench to sit down. Admiring the view that surrounded her and took this time for herself and no one else.

- Spring was one of Misty's favorite times of year since she had always enjoyed and loved the flowers that normally bloomed. Taking the time to explore the land, taking in the amazing scents that penetrated her nose like roses, magnolias even some herbs such as rosemary and basil could create an overwhelming scent that just had her smiling. As Misty began her walk through the garden that grew behind her home, those rich and bright sapphire blue eyes took in everything that passed her sight. The vibrant array of colors nearly rivaled a rainbow with the intensity of colors ranging from sharp reds and oranges to mesmerizing purples, pinks and even yellows. It was just a wonderland and all of it was hers to enjoy whenever she wished.
Further in Misty's ears picked up the gentle, musical singing of the birds that perched along the branches of maple and oak trees. Expressing their love and happiness was always how Misty heard it. A smile gracing over her silk soft, lush red lips as she gently tilted her head to take in the song. Allowing her eyes for the moment to close and having only the mental image as her picture which sometimes was better than the real thing. Letting in a deep breath she slowly opened her eyes and continued along as she was never once echoing a sound herself. No nature was the voice today she just the audience as even her mind became empty of any and all thoughts.
Misty's sandals making a soft tapping over the stone path as she walked, while her long slender arms resting just at her sides. Being of medium height was fine with her and gave her chances to see and touch things she might not of been able too if she had been shorter. The silky soft leaves, the course needles of pine trees, the smooth and cooling of water as it fell over rocks near the falls. Even her clothes were simple yet giving her a grace all of her own. The soft silky material caressed over her skin like a lovers embrace while just slightly accenting her lovely hour-glass figure. A slight v-line neck showing just a glimmer of skin atop her breasts leaving more to the mystery than false hopes.
It flowed down her tone stomach and along her legs just before stopping above her knees. Tan skin graced the presence of sun as it warmed her on this lovely spring morning. The warmth was faint yet enough to redden her cheeks making it appear she had put perhaps so blush upon her skin. A sudden rush of water gave way to a majestic view of the falls, a favorite place for Misty when she wanted just some time to herself. The cascading waters soothed her mind as well as her body if she happened to slip into them. But today it was just her time to be the visitor, enjoying the show nature put on as a graceful movement found her perched upon some flat rocks. Resting her palm against the surface as she balanced her weight to be more comfortable letting go of her thoughts. A since of peace and calmness surround the area giving Misty that serenity she wished for when alone.
