Shifters
History: Shifters are those humans who are able to change form at will and have been since birth into an animal. It can be nearly any real animal from a wolf to a tiger, leopard, bear you name it. Although there are some shifters who can switch between the species when they change. Which is a rare incident but it still does happen. Normally the human side is the one they prefer given how society reacts to things that they don't truly understand nor want to understand in most cases.
Background:Shifters when in their animal form take on a basic version of the said animal. Whether it is a wolf, tiger, bear anything they are around the normal size that animal might be along with weight or at times it will be just a slight bigger or heavier but never over the natural animal. They shift for hunts, to attack, when they need to just get out and breath more or less. To put it easily they shift whenever they wish, unlike lycan's who can only shift during the full-moon. However, in some cases shifters might too be limited in when they can or do shift but it will vary with each one.
It varies how shifters chose to live whether in packs with others or among humans. Choosing to stay hidden from the criticism that is usually normal when humans encounter something or someone that doesn't follow the norm or how they belief or perceive they should be.
Characteristics: Traits of the animal they shift into, which varies for each shifter. Size, weight, fur color, even their eye color will vary and change from what they have as humans to when the are an animal. Usually will stay within the range of the animal they shift to or within a few lbs or inches over but never to far from the norm.
Abilities:Improved hearing, sight, smell, strength, speed, agility. Can communicate with others of their kind through telepathic links.
Height/Weight:Varies for each species but never going over a few lbs or inches of the animals natural weight and size.
Coat and Eye colors:They can have a varies of colors for their coats sometimes matching their human skin or hair color but never going into unnatural colors. Their eyes however are another story, they will either match the human eye color of change completely and can be any color under the rainbow. In very rare cases they will be a mix of colors when they shift.
Environment/Diet:Human side tends to keep with the natural diet while the animal will itself prefer a more rare menu on its diet. Varies as to what for each species. Living is a mix decision as some prefer their human life others a more natural meaning tend to follow their animal blood and sleep in locations that those particular races like. Forests, mountains, caves, up in trees or just roaming and never truly settling. A few will mix it up and go between the two sides as to how they are feeling.
Lifespan/Breeding:Both will fall into more of the animals natural cycles or possible a little higher or even longer. varies again for each species but you can kind of mix it up and come to a compromise for both the human and animal combined.
